Windcluster was one of the first wind energy development companies in the UK and Haverigg 1, our first project was the second commercial wind project in the UK. Now the main activity of the company is to manage the operation of the successor to this project, the 3.4MW Haverigg III wind farm at Haverigg airfield near Millom in Cumbria, and to secure its long-term future.

Windcluster Ltd was founded in 1988 and is a privately owned company. We have 50 individual shareholders, the great majority of whom have been with the company since its earliest days. Windcluster Ltd was established to develop small scale wind energy projects, and we coined the term windcluster to describe them. This idea was inspired by seeing local developments in Denmark, where small groups of turbines were thoughtfully integrated into the landscape.
